McGlinchey Stafford seeks to hire an experienced compliance attorney specializing in Financial Technology ("FinTech")  regulatory compliance advice to work with our nationally recognized Consumer Financial Services Compliance practice group.  McGlinchey's FinTech regulatory compliance practice is seeing significant growth in areas of both payments and consumer credit, and will hire a candidate with experience with respect to either category.  If multiple qualified candidates are identified, we may hire more than one candidate.  Either in-house or law firm experience is acceptable.  No existing transferrable business is necessary.  The position would generally be for a senior associate or of-counsel position, but could also be a partner position depending on expertise.

Our Team

Our Consumer Financial Services Compliance practice group provides regulatory compliance, transactional and risk management advice to numerous FinTech companies operating in both payments and consumer credit.  This includes providing federal regulatory compliance advice on the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs, E-Sign Act, Check 21 Act, UCC Articles 3, 4, and 4A, Truth in Savings Act (TISA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), and numerous other federal laws.  This group also provides state law advice regarding equivalent state laws, and licensing requirements in both the money transmission licensing (MTL) and consumer credit industries.  We also provide advice regarding the major card network rules and the Nacha Operating Rules.

Preferred candidates will have 5 to 15 years' experience, with significant experience working as a regulatory compliance attorney in some or all of the above areas of expertise.  Candidates must be admitted to the bar in the state where they reside, and be active, in good standing and up to date with current CLE requirements.  This position is fully remote and may be located anywhere, although travel to McGlinchey Stafford offices from time to time will be necessary, as permitted by current conditions at the time of travel.

All submissions will be held in strict confidence.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience; full benefits included.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
