The Economics, Accounting and Business Department at Converse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting and Finance at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Spring or Fall 2027.
Teaching areas include financial accounting principles, upper level accounting including Intermediate I and II, Auditing, Taxation and Accounting Information Systems.
The standard teaching load is 21 credit hours per year, usually a 3-4 split load between fall and spring semesters.Additional responsibilities include advising students, assessing student learning, curriculum development, and providing service to the department, university, and community.Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting and provide evidence of excellence in teaching and continued professional development, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse areas of study across a liberal arts campus.
Candidates should have a master’s degree in accounting (MAcc or MSA), or an MBA with an accounting or finance concentration.CPA licensure is preferred regardless of degree. Selected candidates must complete a background check that is satisfactory to the University and be qualified to teach in the US. This position is ineligible for immigration sponsorship.
Converse University is a private, coed liberal arts university with an enrollment of ~1,967 traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students, located in Spartanburg, SC.
