PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSBILITIES
- Maintain, populate and run ratings models ensuring management are aware of how FWD entities are viewed by agencies. Lead FWD ratings relationships in all respects.
- Prepare and manage communications with ratings agencies in relation annual meetings and ad hoc request across Group Office and ratings for relevant Business Units
- Strategically plan and design messaging after internal discussions over strategies to position relevant Group and BU ratings for potential upgrade / defend from potential negative rating action
- Lead assessment and processes for additional rating agency(ies) for additional ratings for Group Office and/or Business Units
- Oversee in relation to business planning processes linking up capital, liquidity and risk matrices
- Manage end to end for Finance leadership presentational materials for credit community (rating agencies and credit investors) and ensure the financials (including non-Treasury information) support them.
- Develop and maintain oversight of delivery of the refinancing plan, working with BU, Actuarial and Investments to anticipate changes in plan and to mitigate them
- Monitor external market developments in capital markets and implications to market access (including non core currencies and private placements)
- Managing and maintain bank relationships
- Support and ultimately in time take ownership in preparing and updating of debt issuance documentation, managing debt raisings processes and other capital markets transactions (across bonds and loans). Support ongoing regulatory and debt investor dialogue
- As needed, support Treasurer/VP in regulatory engagement with relevant regulatory bodies
ADDITIONAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Where required advise on Treasury impacts of M&A, divestments, legal entity changes
- Supply relevant Treasury information to financial reporting and support year end process
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of experience in Treasury, Finance, Risk, Rating Agencies, investment management or banking
- Experience or insight in managing treasury or corporate finance function in MNC or financial institution
- Experience in the financial services industry, preferably life insurance or capital markets
- Experience in dealing with rating agencies, financial regulators, preferably in relation to capital requirements for financial institutions, preferably insurance
- Proven ability to work in highly innovative and dynamic environment with strict timelines
- Highly numerate but not necessarily quantitative with strong Excel modelling skills
- Experience in credit markets including understanding of debt investors and/or bank lending
- Experience in understanding legal documentation for capital markets and loan markets an advantage
- English/Cantonese - Mandarin speaker is an advantage
- Graduate, CFA an advantage but not required
