You'll be joining a high-performing Finance Transformation team delivering strategic initiatives that will shape the future of finance, regulatory reporting and treasury operations. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, you'll partner with senior stakeholders across Finance and Technology on complex, business-critical programs.

The role

This is not a traditional delivery role. We're looking for an experienced Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a Finance Transformation team, bringing together deep accounting expertise with a strong understanding of finance systems, data and end-to-end finance processes.

You'll be the finance expert embedded within transformation programs, ensuring accounting outcomes, finance processes and data are accurately understood as new solutions are designed and delivered. Working alongside Finance, Technology and Project teams, you'll help solve complex business challenges, assess the impact of change and ensure solutions are fit for purpose from a finance perspective.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the Finance SME across multiple finance, regulatory and treasury transformation initiatives
• Providing specialist advice on accounting processes, finance systems and end-to-end data flows
• Assessing the accounting and finance impacts of proposed system and process changes
• Investigating complex finance and data issues, identifying root causes and recommending practical solutions
• Partnering with Technology and Project teams to ensure finance requirements are translated into practical, effective solutions
• Supporting solution validation, testing, implementation and business adoption
• Contributing to the design of robust financial controls and governance throughout project delivery

Ideal skills and experience

This opportunity is suited to an experienced finance professional rather than a career program delivery professional / Business Analyst.

You may currently be working in a senior finance capacity in areas such as financial/management/regulatory reporting, finance systems, finance advisory or finance transformation in a Big 4 or consulting environment.

The common thread is that you understand accounting, finance systems and data, and enjoy solving complex business problems.

You'll ideally bring:

• Extensive experience within banking finance, including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting or Regulatory Reporting
• A strong understanding of banking accounting processes, finance systems and end-to-end data flows
• Experience supporting finance transformation, systems implementations or major change initiatives
• Sound knowledge of accounting treatment across banking products, including ledger movements, accruals, balances and cash flow recognition
• Experience working with data sourcing, transformation, reconciliation and financial reporting processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues into practical solutions
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to work across Finance, Technology and Project teams
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Exposure to data modelling, Common Data Models (CDM/CDE) or SQL would be advantageous, however hands-on technical development skills are not required

Applicants with strong quantitative backgrounds (such as mathematics or physics) who have built successful careers in finance will also be highly regarded for their analytical and problem-solving capability.
