Investment Operations Analyst - Equity Long/Short Hedge Fund

Octavius Finance, a specialist recruiter within quantitative financial markets, is working with a London-based Equity Long/Short hedge fund seeking to hire an Investment Operations Analyst.

This role sits within the investment team and offers broad exposure to portfolio implementation, investment operations, portfolio oversight and asset allocation. Working closely with Portfolio Managers and the trading team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring investment decisions are implemented efficiently and accurately across client portfolios.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-4 years' experience looking to build a career within a hedge fund environment while gaining direct exposure to portfolio management and investment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio rebalancing and implementation of investment decisions.

• Raising, monitoring and reconciling orders with the trading team.

• Supporting portfolio implementation and investment operations across multiple accounts.

• Assisting with asset allocation and portfolio oversight activities.

• Producing portfolio reports, factsheets, client presentations and investment documentation.

• Monitoring portfolio positions, exposures and investment activity.

• Supporting operational projects and process improvements.

• Working closely with Portfolio Managers, traders and external service providers.

Requirements

• 2-4 years' experience within investment operations, portfolio operations, investment support, middle office or portfolio implementation.

• Experience within an asset manager, hedge fund, wealth manager, family office, pension fund, investment consultancy or related investment organisation.

• Hedge fund experience would be preferred, ideally supporting an Equity Long/Short strategy, although this is not essential.

• Exposure to public markets and portfolio management processes would be beneficial.

• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data.

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced investment environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Backgrounds of interest may include Investment Operations Analyst, Portfolio Operations Analyst, Portfolio Implementation Analyst, Investment Support Analyst, Middle Office Analyst, Investment Operations Associate or Trading Assistant roles.
